On offer is a lovely original antique colored engraving fashion plate from, “The Ladies’ Monthly Museum”. The series was called “The Mirror of Fashion”, and the engraving is titled, “Morning & Evening Costume for September 1816”.
***Please note that this is an authentic, antique fashion page, not a modern digital reproduction. This page is 203 years old!
Condition is very good, with age-related toning, creasing and other small blemishes and/or imperfections. There is a very light (and wonderful!) scent that is common of aging paper. The plate mark is visible. The reverse side is blank with some age spots. The right edge is has been trimmed, but still shows some wear and small tears from its original book binding. I have included direct image scans. Please examine closely for condition and note that there may be a variation in the overall paper color of the print to account for slight variations in monitors, scanners, etc.
This antique fashion engraving ships to you unframed and protected with archival backing board and bag.
The publication date is listed as Sept 1, 1816. The publisher name and address is located below the title and is listed as “Dean & Munday, 35 Threadneedle Street”.
