On offer is a lovely antique hand-colored book page from “A Unique Victorian Bound Collection of Mainly American Book Illustrations” by Illman & Sons, c. 1870, which features fashions from 1840-1860. This fashion is from “Les Modes Parisiennes” c. 1851.
***Please note that this is an authentic, original book illustration, not a modern digital reproduction. This page is 148 years old!
Condition is very good, with age-related toning, creasing and small blemishes and/or imperfections. There is a very light (and wonderful!) scent that is common of aging paper. The reverse side is blank. The binding edge has been trimmed some but shows small tears from the original binding. The margins on either side of the image are not the same width. I have included direct image scans. Please examine closely for condition and note that there may be a variation in the overall paper color of the print to account for slight variations in monitors, scanners, etc.
This print ships to you unframed and protected with archival backing board and bag.
Two lovely ladies in French fashions of the day with a scenic backdrop of trees, mountains and a river. Directly under the image lists “Illman & Sons”, followed by “Les Modes Parisiennes”.
Measures 9 6/8″ tall by 6 1/8″ wide.
